Vatican City - Part 1 of 2

Vatican City, a sovereign state.  A city within Rome. Is it the world's smallest city?

St Peter's Basilica. In the middle of the day, tourists will stand in the Square under in the blistering sun in what seems to be an eternity to enter the Basilica. The smart ones bring an umbrella. The really smart ones arrive early in the day or after 6 PM (during peak season) when lines are short.

Once you get past the baggage screening and the metal detectors, you're on your way in.  But ONLY if you're dressed appropriately.  Knees and shoulders must be covered.

The architecture and the art work are magnificent. It's amazing what craftsman could do centuries ago.
